Bronze Star
June 20, 2004
On June 20, 2004, McCumber Daniels attorney David W. Nilsen was awarded The Bronze Star Medal for exceptionally meritorious service while serving as the assistant plans officer during Operation Iraqi Freedom. The Bronze Star Medal is awarded to any person who, while serving in any capacity in or with the military of the United States after 6 December 1941, distinguished himself or herself by heroic or meritorious achievement or service, not involving participation in aerial flight, while engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States; while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force; or while serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which the United States is not a belligerent party.
Captain Nilsen was recognized for his work providing operational control of theater distribution center and detailed planning of the redeployment and deployment of Echleon Above Corps Transportation units in Kuwait and Iraq. The medal further stated that Nilsen “performed brilliantly at every mission given him, making him one of the unit’s best performers. Captain Nilsen’s professionalism and ability to accomplish the mission reflects distinct credit upon himself, the coalition forces land component command and the United States Army.”
The attorneys and staff of McCumber Daniels congratulate Dave on the honor.
